Glass Positive

Things happen.  That’s what the kitchen dealer who shut his doors owing me over $900 said when I inquired about several unpaid invoices.  The two larger panels on the right had been installed in their entry way as an additional, hopefully eye-catching display that would lead to more sales, and by the way decorate their lobby….  It worked, too, but now that the doors are shuttered, Plan B comes into play.

After reminding him of the original deal, the panels were removed from his storefront before the upcoming auction.  After looking everywhere in my house, there was just no spot that was the right location or colorscheme to match.  On to Plan B.  Yesterday, my good friend who has a booth in a local Fleatique helped me hang them from the rafters over her booth.  The light fixture in the hall was recently changed–no good spot for that either, anymore, and, the smaller panel was from a customer who decided she wanted a different design for her cabinet.  A few stray glass boxes left over from craft show days and the afternoon was complete.

All the stock notions, about “best-laid plans” or ”life and lemonade” are true.  I call it “Bloom where You are Planted.”  Look forward.  Whining won’t make a check come in the mail.  The energy spent whining was instead used treking up and down a ladder with a 60+ pound panel–3″ wide solid oak frames add a lot of weight!  Just as exhausting, but at least I can say I tried.
