When my daughter was a toddler, she loved French Toast for breakfast. Part of that is probably because I love French Toast, too and the toast usually doesn’t usually fall far from the griddle (couldn’t resist). Anyway, I could always tell when she was in a growth spurt because one piece wasn’t enough. Every few months she would ask for a second piece and I knew it would soon be time to shop for the next size of clothing.
The Morning Glory and Moonflower vines must be having French Toast every morning with no breaks. Two weeks ago, the higher ones barely reached the level of the wall that Barbie La Mew is setting on. In just the past four days alone, the tallest tip has grown about 16 inches–from just under the horizontal arm of the pergola and its still going strong.
Watching these vines grow is great fun. Every morning, one of the first things I do is go out on the proch and check how much they grew overnight. I highly recommend the experience.
